different but come together beautifully.  I’m able to mix the different techniques to create beautiful pieces of jewellery.

Fired Silver started in 2006 after I became a stay at home mum.  Initially I taught jewellery classes locally on weekends, it was my bit of independence.  I enjoyed the social aspect of teaching and getting to know people in my local area – some of whom have become friends over the years.

I now have my own studio space which is fantastic and gives me a permanent base, and also means that students get to see my whole range of tools and equipment.

As well as teaching, I sell my own range of jewellery and you can view my collections on my website rebeccacrabtree.com

I’ve always been creative in some form, I went through the usual hobbies when I was younger – sewing, knitting, drawing and painting.  Nothing was ever quite “me”.  In 1994 I started an evening class in Silversmithing at a local college and I was hooked.

About the Tutors
FI WILSON - INDIGOBLUE JEWELLERY

My name is Fi Wilson and I started making jewellery around ten years ago.  After taking a break to continue my academic studies I attended a silversmithing course two years ago and haven’t looked back.  I work in sterling silver (.925), fine silver (.999) as well as using Swarovski™ crystals and other accents in my work.

I like to make pieces that are elegant and eye-catching ranging from everyday wear such as necklaces, earrings, bracelets and cufflinks to special occasion wear such as bridal
jewellery.  In August 2009 I started selling my jewellery through my site Indigoblue Jewellery

I love the complexity, simplicity and diversity of the weaves that can be created with chain maille.  Once the basics of a weave are mastered the possibilities to embellish and combine weaves is endless.  I find the process of making a chain therapeutic and when the final piece is finished all the those times of dropping rings or connecting the wrong rings and having to correct them makes it all worthwhile.  I hope you will enjoy learning the chain maille weaves I will be teaching and I look forward to meeting you.
